A Lounge to view Art
In Downtown Jersey City Power Art District

Weston
Woolley makes his NYC debut with this
solo art exhibition at CVB Space. Weston has previously shown at
Morris Museum (Morristown, NJ) –2003, The Don O' Melveny Gallery (L.A.) –2003, and Silho (L.A.) –2003. He was featured in Launch Pad's "The best of emerging artists" –2003, and also produced and starred in the multi-media performance art show, "Music, Cocaine and Philosophy" at the Greenway Court Theatre (L.A.) –2003. |
The
paintings in this exhibition were painted over the last two years, and
they represent places, people and important events of Woolley's life over
the same period. Of these paintings, Woolley has noted, "Each image
holds memories as to how I have perceived my time to be; complex and multi-layered,
searching within to elevate and accept myself." |
The
process of self-revelation has also led the young artist to boldly defy
categorization by including in this exhibition a companion book, entitled
Someday We'll Laugh. This novella includes prints of the paintings
in his exhibition, and will give the reader/viewer a window into the life
events from which these paintings spring forth. |
What
next? Weston continues to push himself further in new directions, and
he is currently planning a new oil painting series, a collection of metal
sculpture, and a new multi-media performance art show slated to open Summer
2005 |
